Cooking Turkish Apple Pie:

Step 1: prepare the oven and baking dish.

To prepare the dough, flour mixed with a baking powder is used, but this mixture should also be sieved through a sieve with a fine mesh in a deep bowl. During this process, the flour becomes drier, friable, and also any litter that could get into the flour during its packaging at the factory is removed. After that, add 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder to the same container and mix with a whisk until smooth.

Step 3: prepare the dough.


Then we put 225 grams of butter in a separate deep bowl, and pour 175 grams of granulated sugar. Set them under the mixer blades and beat until the sugar grains are completely dissolved. We act slowly, increasing the speed of the kitchen appliance from minimum to maximum. About 10 - 12 minutes intensive mixing, the oil will acquire a lush smooth texture, add 2 tablespoons of sour cream to it and mix again at medium speed until smooth 2 - 3 minutes.

After we remove the bowl from under the mixer blades and start, introduces a mixture of flour and baking powder into it. We act gradually spoon after spoon, while kneading the dough. When the cutlery ceases to help, we continue kneading with clean hands until the semi-finished flour product adopts a soft, uniform texture. Roll the finished dough into a ball, cover with a kitchen towel and let it stand 10 - 15 minutes.

Step 4: prepare the apples.


After we take 5 - 6 soft and very ripe apples of any kind, it is better to use fruits that are suitable for cooking apple jam. We wash the apples under cold running water from any kind of pollution and peel them with a knife for slicing fruits. Now, acting at will, the apples can be finely chopped or grated on a coarse grater into a deep bowl, the Turkish method has a second method, but you can act as you like.

We give chopped apples time to stand and let the juice go, that's enough 5 - 6 minutes. After we squeeze them out of our hands with excess liquid, add 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar and mix until smooth.

Step 5: make a cake.


Now sprinkle the kitchen table with a small layer of flour, put the dough on it and divide it into 2 equal parts with a metal kitchen spatula. One of the parts is sent back to the bowl, and the second is rolled into a thick layer up to 5 - 7 millimeters. Its size should be slightly larger than the bottom of the baking dish.

We wrap a layer of dough on a rolling pin, transfer it to a baking sheet and level the bottom base with clean fingers along the bottom of the container.

Then immediately spread the apple filling, distributing it in an even layer.

In the same way we roll out the second part of the dough and cover them with the filling. We tightly pinch the edges of the two flour layers so that there are no cracks.

Step 6: bake a turkish apple pie.


We check the temperature of the oven and if it has warmed up, set the form in it with the formed pie on the middle rack. Bake for 25-30 minutes to the crust of a light golden blush. After the required time has passed, remove the form from the oven, holding the container with kitchen tacks.

Allow the baking to cool to room temperature, sprinkle the cake to taste with powdered sugar, cut into portioned pieces measuring 5 by 5 centimeters, arrange them on dessert plates with a dessert spatula and serve.

Step 7: serve the Turkish apple pie.


Turkish apple pie is served warm or chilled as a dessert for a sweet table. If desired, each serving of this incredibly delicious pastry can be supplemented with balls of ice cream, homemade sour cream or cream.

Recipe Tips:

- If desired, 1 bag of vanilla sugar can be added to the dough, this ingredient should be whipped together with butter and regular sugar.

- If you did not find flour with a baking powder, do not worry, you can cook it yourself by mixing 1 cup of ordinary wheat flour with 1 teaspoon of baking powder. And then add to this flour 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder.
